Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education to 100 students to pursue their education and their dreams

BANGKOK – September 29, 2022: Through the "Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education" program, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF) together with Equitable Education Fund (EEF) have continued to promote educational equality in Thai society by awarding 100 scholarships to Thai students, demonstrating the company's support for the students' life direction, dreams, and career opportunities in order to enhance their quality of life.

“We firmly believe in the development of human resources and consider education as a crucial element for the youth who will eventually serve the growth of the country. This academic year, scholarships were given to 74 students in Chonburi and 26 students in Pathum Thani. These pupils go to schools near to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's Laem Chabang factory in Chonburi and Mitsubishi Motors Education Academy in Pathum Thani. I would like to congratulate students who were awarded scholarships and wish them well in their future endeavors. I am also appreciated to EFF that supported and worked hard on this initiative to advance educational equality in Thailand,” said Mr. Eiichi Koito, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Chairman of MMTF.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV's plug-in hybrid technology was demonstrated to the students during the ceremony in Chonburi and Pathum Thani where they see the DENDO DRIVE HOUSE – a new electric ecosystem that can supply power between the EV/PHEV vehicle and the house using solar-generated power. The students also had a chance to ride along in the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and chat with Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s service assistants and technicians about the EV/PHEV technology during a test drive.

In collaboration with the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), an organization established by the Independent Committee for Education Reform, the "Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education" program was established in 2020 to donate scholarships to Mathayom 1–3 students in Thailand who excel academically but need financial assistance to continue pursuing their educations.

Prof Sompong Jitradup, an expert in Thai education at the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) said, “The ‘Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education’ program not only helps families who are struggling to pay for their children's education, but also paves the way for educational equality for all Thai children. For our young students, this is very important. I want to express my gratitude to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand once more for donating the 100 scholarships, totaling 450,000 Baht this year.

A Mathayom 2 student at Wat Na Wong School, Thanyares Uppano, said the scholarship from Mitsubishi Motors Thailand inspires her to pursue her goal of becoming a doctor. “I want to become a doctor. I want to thank Mitsubishi Motors Thailand for giving me the scholarship and showing me that I can do anything I set my mind to. I'll work hard and become a qualified doctor. My parents would be very proud of me,” she said.

The Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF) was established in August 2020 as a nonprofit organization with an aim to benefit Thai society through three key pillars: environment, health, and education. Following the company’s vision on social contribution: “To Contribute and Grow with Thai society”, the company continues to give back to its communities, contributing to the overall development of Thailand’s economy and society.

In its first and second years, the "Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education" program awarded 174 scholarships totaling 783,000 baht to deserving students. At present, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand and Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation are the only automotive company that partner with the EEF to support the education sector in Thailand.
