MITSUBISHI MOTORS THAILAND
Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the largest plant in the MMC group and an export hub to more than 120 countries, is one of Thailand’s leading automotive manufacturers committed to produce and sell a range of vehicles that are eco-friendly, high in quality, performance, safety, comfort, technology and customer satisfaction. In 2018, MMTh celebrated a total production of five million units, and officially opened Education Academy in Pathum Thani. MMTh’s current range of vehicles includes MITSUBISHI TRITON, MITSUBISHI PAJERO SPORT, MITSUBISHI ATTRAGE, MITSUBISHI MIRAGE, MITSUBISHI XPANDER, MITSUBISHI XPANDER CROSS and MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PHEV. To ensure the highest quality, MMTh uses its proving ground in Si Racha, Chonburi to assess products from design and prototype stages to pre-production and commercialization. This ensures customers take delivery of vehicles that are second-to-none in all aspects of quality.
60-year Key Milestones of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (1961-2021)
1961
Sittipol Motor Co., Ltd. (SMC) was established and authorized as sole distributor of Mitsubishi three-wheel “Leo” and early-stage “Colt” models.
1964
United Development Motor Industry Co., Ltd. (UDMI) was founded as an automobile assembler.
1987
"MMC Sittipol Co., Ltd.” was founded from the merge of Sittipol Motor Co., Ltd. and United Development Motor Industry Co., Ltd., marking the start of manufacturing automobiles for international market.
1988
"Mitsubishi Lancer Champ" was exported to Canada as the first Thai-made automobile exported from Thailand.
1992
Laem Chabang Plant 1 started its operation
1996
Laem Chabang Plant 2 started its operation concentrating on the production of 1-ton pickup truck.
2003
Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was founded.
2007
1 million pickup trucks export
2008
Engine Factory was relocated to and expanded in Laemchabang Industrial Estate as MMTh Engine Co., Ltd. (MEC).
2009
Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. produced the 2 million-unit
2012
Laem Chabang Plant 3 started its operation for the production of eco-cars.
2013
3 million-unit production
2015
4 million-unit production and Proving Ground was opened in Si Racha, Chonburi.
2016
The Head Office was relocated to FYI Center, Bangkok. 3 million-unit export
2018
5 million-unit production and Education Academy was opened in Lamlukka, Pathum Thani.
2019
