Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Provides Modified Mitsubishi Triton to Transport COVID-19 Patients for Treatment

Bangkok, August 26, 2021: Mitsubishi Motors Thailand is providing three units of Mitsubishi Triton to transport people who tested positive for the coronavirus for treatment at hospitels and hospitals nationwide. The vehicles are specially built and equipped with necessary medical equipment and Germ Quadruple Protection System. Each vehicle can accommodate up to 12 seats for both passengers and drivers.

These Mitsubishi Tritons have been provided as part of its social contribution to support the project ‘Covid-19 Relief Effort by Rueng Lao Chao Nee’, initiated by Mr. Sorayuth Suthassanachinda, famous news anchor and founder of Rueng Lao Chao Nee Morning News program. Mr. Sorayuth and his crew are cooperating with other renowned Facebook influencers such as 'Save Thailand Safe', ‘E-Jan’, and ‘Zendai’ to aid COVID-19 patients in need of care.

Mr. Eiichi Koito, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “As the COVID-19 situation continues, each day brings different challenges for many of us. We at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand have been standing with Thailand for 60 years and we will keep banding together in its fight against the virus with a series of relief efforts. We have recently provided contributions that include the donations of N95 masks, drinking water, cardboards for making paper field hospital beds, and personal protection equipment to number of hospitals.”

This people transportation vehicle are built based on the Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab 2WD. The vehicle is equipped with Germ Quadruple Protection System, medical grade oxygen pipeline system, and other basic life support medical devices. At the rear compartment, long and ergonomic benches are installed to accommodate up to 10 passengers. The cabin room has solid structure which is made by steel and high-grade aluminum that can safely withstand an impact load.

Besides the germ Quadruple Protection System including HEPA Air purifiers, ozone generator, and UVC lamp, the compartment wall and ceiling is also made from ANTI-BACTERIA fiber-reinforced plastic, certified ISO 22196 and JIS Z 2801. The protection surface had been tested and certified to be effective for at least 55 years. The compartment contains medical-grade equipment including resuscitator, Sphygmomanometer Aneroid wall type with Stethoscope and oxygen supply. The driver is protected as airflow between compartments is completely sealed to prevent viral spread. The three-vehicle modification equipped with medical equipment and Germ Quadruple Protection System has cost in total over 3.7 Million Baht. All modified vehicles have been recently delivered to Mr. Sorayuth, led by Mr. Sarote Maartlert, Senior Vice President, Sales, After Sales and Network Improvement Units as the representative of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand together with the other management member.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand also provided fuel card to support the petrol fee for the vehicles use for the project. Prior to providing support to this initiative, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has previously provided two units of Mitsubishi Triton to support the daily operations of the project, offering basic aid for COVID-19 patients.
