Minister of Industry Observes Progress of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s reconstruction investment

Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (center) led Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Industry (center) and the executives of Industry Minister to observe the progress of the construction project of the company’s new eco-friendly paint factory located at Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi.

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. led by Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO, gave a warm welcome to Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Minister of Industry, Mr. Kobchai Sungsitthisawad, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Ms. Somchint Pilouk, Governor Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and the ministry executives as the group paying a visit to its production facility at Laem Chabang, Chonburi. On this occasion, the group have also observed Mitsubishi Motors’ Driving the future of Thailand’s automotive industry under the three-year mid-term business plan which focusing more on ASEAN particularly Thailand.

The minister and the ministry executives also learned the progress of its THB 7 billion reconstruction investment which including the construction project of new eco-friendly paint factory and the automation improvement to increase productivity. The new eco-friendly paint factory will be completed in December 2021, the 4-storey paint factory on more than 21,000 square-meter property will be one of the most advanced and eco-friendliest facilities of its kind in Thailand. This new paint factory is a part of a technological upgrade to Mitsubishi Motors’ long-established production facility in Thailand, to increase manufacturing competitiveness and eco-friendliness.

The reconstruction investment to build the new paint factory and renew all facilities underlines Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s ongoing commitment to Thailand. Currently, 4 of Mitsubishi Motors’ core models are produced in Thailand, including Mitsubishi Triton, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Mitsubishi Mirage and Mitsubishi Attrage. And for the first time at plants outside Japan, this production facility is going to produce Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV set to make an introduction to Thai market within this fiscal year.
