Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Receives Trophy from Ministry of Education to Support Electric Vehicle Education

BANGKOK – February 9, 2023: Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Sarote Maartlert (left), Senior Vice President, Sales, After Sales and Network Improvement Units recently received the trophy of honor by Ms. Treenuch Thienthong (right), Minister of Education. To strengthen and encourage in personal development while elevating vocational students' skills in modern automotive industry (Electric Vehicle or EV) at ONE-EV (Open Network of Education for Electric Vehicle) at Chonburi Technical College.


Ms. Treenuch Thienthong, Minister of Education also presided over the award ceremony along with executives from automakers and academic institutions. As part of this project aims to support the policy of Ministry of Education has further expanded a highly-skilled workforce aligned with ZERO Emission policy.


Mr. Sarote Maartlert, Senior Vice President, Sales, After Sales and Network Improvement Units, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand said, “The recognition underlines Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s commitment to support the development of a highly-skilled workforce in addition to promoting research and development of technologies that will drive Thailand to lead the automotive industry’s transition to EVs.”


Previously, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with government and private agencies in last December 2022 to leverage vocational workforces and research and development of innovative technologies. Under the terms of the MoU, the company is committed to support technology transfer to increase and develop highly-skilled workforce with the goal of supporting Thailand’s drive towards
a carbon-neutral society.


In this cooperation, there are 16 public and private organizations that have signed the MoU and shared the same goal to create and develop human resources for the future of the automotive industry that will focus on electric vehicles. As one of Thailand’s leaders in EVs, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand will continue to explore new opportunities and partnerships to help boost the EV market in Thailand.


In December 2021, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand donated 11 automotive engines to the mechanical department of Chonburi Technical College to allow vocational students to gain hands-on experiences. The advanced gasoline and diesel powertrains were from Mitsubishi’s award-winning vehicles including the Triton, Pajero, Mirage, Attrage and Outlander PHEV.


The recognitions and collaborations demonstrate Mitsubishi Motors Thailand is committed to continue to give back to Thai society that align with the company’s vision on social contribution ‘To Contribute and Grow with Thai Society’ under ‘Education’, one of the three main pillars that also include Environment and Health. Together, the company’s CSR direction is to contribute to the sustainable development of Thailand’s economy and society.
