‘Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education’ Awards 100 Scholarships to Thai Students

Empowers Equitable Education for a Better Quality of Life

BANGKOK – January 5, 2024: Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF) together with Equitable Education Fund (EEF) awarded 100 scholarships to Thai students under ‘Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education’ program, providing students with educational opportunities to pursue their dreams and a better quality of life. This scholarships supported Thai students who achieved outstanding academic achievement but need financial support to continue pursuing their education, the program empowers the younger generation with more equitable educational opportunities. It also aligned with the company’s commitment to support education in Thailand while giving back to Thai society.


Mr. Shin Kubo, Executive Vice President, Corporate and Global Unit of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation said, “We strongly believe that education can elevate the quality of life, and bring a positive impact on all aspects of a country's development. Partnering with Equitable Education Fund (EEF), ’Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education’ program is the first Corporate Social Responsibility activity of the Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation. It is aligned with our commitment and dedication ‘To Contribute and Grow with Thai Society.”


“Through this program, we award scholarships to 100 students every year, as we aim to help reduce the inequitable education problem. We are committed to continue the scholarship program every year to support impoverished students, and utilize the scholarships to enhance their educational capabilities, and support the development of country's future,” added Mr. Kubo.


‘Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education’ program was established in 2020 in collaboration with Equitable Education Fund (EEF), with the objective to award scholarships to students in middle school who has outstanding academic achievement but need financial assistance to continue pursuing their educations.


In 2023, scholarships were given to 79 students in Chonburi and 21 students in Pathum Thani. All the students go to schools near Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's Laem Chabang factory in Chonburi and Mitsubishi Motors Education Academy in Pathum Thani. The program has been awarded scholarships to students for four years running, totaling 374 scholarships worth up to THB 1.68 million since the program’s started. Moreover, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand and Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF) are the only automotive company that partner with Equitable Education Fund (EEF) to support the Thai education sector.


At the Scholarship Award Ceremony in Pathum Thani, the students were also given a demonstration of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and DENDO DRIVE HOUSE, both of which were on display to demonstrate the advanced new electric ecosystem that can supply power between the EV/PHEV vehicle and the house using solar-generated power which allows the SUV to be used as a mobile battery storage system and supply electricity back to the household. The students also had the opportunity to take in the All-New Mitsubishi Triton and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and learn from Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s technician specialists about EV/PHEV technology. Besides, in Chonburi, the students were taken on a tour of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s Factory 2, exposing them to the world and knowledge of production related advanced technologies that are used by the company.


Ms. Viphavee Burushong, Division Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Equitable Education Fund (EEF) said, "On behalf of Equitable Education Fund (EEF), I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand for initiating the ‘Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education’ program and for our collaboration to create educational opportunities for the past four years. In 2023, we provided 100 highly valuable scholarships for children in Chonburi and Pathum Thani provinces. Equitable Education Fund (EEF) has also engaged with various partners to drive educational equality under the concept ‘All for Education’. We are trying to stimulate sustainable structural change which is key to eventually break the cycle of generational poverty and create educational equality for students to pursue their education and their dreams.”


Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF) was established in August 2020 as a nonprofit organization with the aim to benefit Thai society through three key pillars: Education, Health and Environment, following the company’s vision on social contribution, ‘To Contribute and Grow with Thai society’.
