Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Continues to Empower the Disabled with Employment for the Fifth Year

BANGKOK – October 10, 2023: Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. continues its ‘Disabled Employment Project’ for five years consecutively to empower the disabled with job opportunities and careers to enhance their quality of life with stable income. Since its inception, the project has provided meaningful employment to over 420 persons with disabilities, allowing them to enhance their quality of life and contribute positively to society. The project is a part of the company’s corporate social responsibility vision ‘To Contribute and Grow with Thai Society’.


The ‘Disabled Employment Project’ has been initiated by Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, in collaboration with the Provincial Employment Office and the Social Innovation Foundation. In 2023, the project supported 62 persons with disabilities. Within this group, 52 individuals were employed by Mitsubishi Motors Thailand while 10 were employed by MMTh Engine who have been assisted in securing suitable positions within various government organizations throughout the country in Chiang Rai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Khon Kaen, and Chonburi. The job placements cover a range of workplaces including local government agencies, public health institutions, educational academies, foundations, and associations.


Nong Prue Town Municipality, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, led by Mr. Winai Inpitak, Mayor of Nong Prue Municipality, Chonburi Province, one of the organizations that helps operate and identify candidates for the project said, “In cooperation with Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, we are very proud of the project that empowers persons with disabilities with employment and stable income. This project will also give them a sense of pride and awareness of their own potential and value they can bring to society. We believe the opportunity is the key and hope that the project will also change the attitude of people towards persons with disabilities, as they also have ability to work and contribute just like others.”


Mr. Kritsana Chatbut, with hand and leg deformities and who is now an Administrative Officer at the Samed Sub-District Municipality, Chonburi Province, said, “I have been working with this project for five years. Previously I worked as a hawker and my income was not stable. Working in this project provided me with a steady monthly income and more time to spend with my family. I would like to thank all involved in this project for providing equal opportunity for persons with disabilities.”


Mr. Boonchu Srathongchan with mobility disabilities, who is currently working as a child care assistant at Teacher Boonchoo Home for Special Children said, “I have been working as caretaker for the children for three years. I am very glad and proud to be a part of this project that give me the opportunity to be employed, allowing me to have stable income to support my family.”
