Mitsubishi Motors Thailand commits to powering Thailand’s education with an internship program

BANGKOK – September 8, 2022: Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has granted certificates and awards to 29 interns who successfully completed the 4th MMTh Talent Internship Program this year. The program gives university students the chance to apply their theoretical knowledge at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s state-of-the-art automotive manufacturing facility while receiving guidance from experienced professionals as they get ready for their future careers. The award handover ceremony was led by Mr. Egathi Rattana-Aree, Executive Vice President, Human Resources & General Administration Unit; Mr. Eiji Ogawa, Executive Vice President, Factory Unit; and Mr. Sarote Maartlert, Senior Vice President, Sales, After Sales and Network Improvement Unit at Mitsubishi Motors Education Academy in Pathum Thani province. Deans and representatives from prominent universities in Thailand such as Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University, and Srinakharinwirot University were also present.

Mr. Eiichi Koito, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Co., Ltd., said, “Mitsubishi Motors Thailand is one of the world’s leading automotive companies that offer a range of cutting-edge technologies, and our business record over the last 61 years has demonstrated our success. Today, we take great pride in being able to continue imparting our expertise and skills to the next generation, whose education is a key pillar for the advancement of our nation. Through our annual MMTh Talent Internship Program, we will continue to ensure that Thai university students can grow as competent adults prepared to lead the automotive industry, which is a cornerstone of Thailand’s economy. Once they graduate, I would be happy to welcome them to our company and work together with them to advance Thailand's automotive sector.”

Thousands of students have expressed interest in the "MMTh Talent Internship Program" since 2019.

Mr. Konnatee Kitticharoenwong and Mr. Takumi Kodama, who are third-year engineering students from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Mahidol University, respectively, were among the highest scorers in this year's internship program. For the past two months, they closely worked together on a project called "Dealer Performance Dashboard."

“Our seniors advised us to apply for an internship at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand since the experience we can gain from the company will be helpful and valuable, because the company coaches’ interns on tackling real-world issues. This opportunity allowed us to not only expand our network of engineering professionals but also explore our career paths in the actual world. We would like to thank Mitsubishi Motors Thailand for giving us such an amazing opportunity. The people here are also kind and helpful, making the entire work experience motivating and enjoyable for us,” Mr. Konnatee and Mr. Takumi said.

“Our engineering faculty has collaborated with renowned industrial players across a range of sectors, including the automotive industry, to ensure that our courses are up to date and effective for preparing students for evolving industries. University courses alone, however, are insufficient. For the youths to get greater knowledge about corporate culture, organizational structure, and the formation of working habits in the real world, classes must be combined with internships,” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Thachanan Samanmulya, Assistant Dean of Engineering School at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.

The MMTh Talent Internship Program is part of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s educational initiatives in line with its vision “To Contribute and Grow with Thai Society”. With that, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand will continue to support the country’s education sector by consistently aiding students in their educational and professional endeavors.
