Mitsubishi Motors Thailand and MMTh Engine Receive Five National Excellence Awards for Safety and Occupational Health 2023

CHONBURI – December 18, 2023: Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and MMTh Engine Co., Ltd recently received five National Excellence Awards for Safety, Occupational Health, and Work Environment 2023 from the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare. The awards were in recognition of the companies’ outstanding operations that strictly adhered to safety standards, providing employees with great health, wellbeing, and quality of life.


Executives representing Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and MMTh Engine Co., Ltd. included Mr. Eiji Ogawa, Executive Vice President, Factory Unit, Mr. Manus Yongprueksa, Vice President, Mr. Winai Sonthong, Division General Manager and Mr. Uthen Phromsont, Senior Expert. The awards were presented by Mr. Krirkkrai Nasomyont, Inspector-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare in a ceremony held at the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2023 in Chonburi.


Mr. Eiji Ogawa, Executive Vice President, Factory Unit, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, “I am very proud to represent all employees in attending the Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award 2023 for Safety, Occupational Health, and Work Environment awards ceremony. The awards were presented to organizations that demonstrates outstanding occupational health and safety operations that comply with legal requirements, and exhibited performance in accordance with the award criteria from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. The organizations must reflect continuous development and demonstrate its determination to build and maintain great work environment.


Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and MMTh Engine Co., Ltd received five awards for its five facilities:

  • MMTh3 – Received Diamond level for eight consecutive years.
  • Press 1 – Received Diamond level for six consecutive years.
  • MEC (engine) – Received a trophy and certificate for five years, levelling up from Gold to Diamond level.
  • MMTh1 and 2 – Received Gold level for four consecutive years.
  • Press2 and Plastic – Received Gold level three consecutive years

The Thailand Labour Management Excellence Award was initiated by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour, to promote and encourage businesses and manufacturers to build excellent labour management systems and operations that lead to zero work-related accidents and improve workers' quality of life and wellbeing, becoming a model for further organizational development. This will also result in sustainable growth for establishments in Thailand.
