Celebration to the ALL-NEW Mitsubishi TRITON debut AXCR 2023 with Team Win and Podium Finish at BIG Motor Sale 2023

BANGKOK – August 25, 2023: Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. celebrates the winning of Asia Cross Country Rally 2023 (AXCR 2023) that Team Mitsubishi Ralliart achieved the Team Award as well as a first-ever podium for the All-New Mitsubishi Triton to mark the ambitious spirits of its “Rally Racing Champion DNA”. Team Mitsubishi Ralliart won the Team Award, which is contested between teams that entered two or more vehicles. To win this award, all vehicles entered must complete the race. The combined time of the top two vehicles of each team determines the position. This win proved the exceptional All-New Mitsubishi Triton’s, performance, robustness and reliability in the challenging rally conditions.

In overall rankings, Mr. Chayapon Yotha and Mr. Peerapong Sombutwong, both from Thailand, finished third overall in the #101 All-New Mitsubishi Triton. Mr. Katsuhiko Taguchi and Mr. Takahiro Yasui, both from Japan, completed the rally in eighth position in the #112 All-New Mitsubishi Triton. This was enough to secure Team Mitsubishi Ralliart with the Team Award. Further underlining the superior performance of the all-new pickup truck was Mr. Rifat Sungkar (Indonesia) and Mr. Chupong Chaiwan (Thailand) who finished 32nd overall and marked top time at the 5th day of Special Stage (SS 5) in the #106 All-New Mitsubishi Triton. The prestigious regional event was held from August 13-19, 2023 across Thailand and Laos.

Leading the line-up is the All-New Mitsubishi Triton which has been reborn with Mitsubishi Motors-ness to provide safe, secure, and comfortable driving in various weather and road conditions across the world. Completely redesigned with a powerful presence, the All-New Mitsubishi Triton features a bigger, stronger, and lighter MEGAFRAME chassis, complete with a new HYPER POWER engine that churns out 184 horsepower and 430 Newton meters of torque. This provides the truck with excellent acceleration and performance with enhanced fuel efficiency. Inside, high quality materials are used in a cabin that is designed according to Mitsubishi’s Ergonomic principles. Providing both beauty and safety, this promotes ease-of-use and enhances the driver’s focus on the road. This all-new sixth-generation midsize pickup truck is the new benchmark and a global icon for pickup trucks.

One of the two variants on display is the All-New Mitsubishi Triton Double-Cab Plus 2.4 ULTRA Auto. With a beefed-up body, horizontally-themed styling and a unique combination of daytime running lights and Multi-Projector LED headlights, it is modern and powerful. In addition to a wireless charging system, the interior features a clear Full-HD 9 inch display audio that supports Apple CarPlay (wireless type) and Android Auto. The truck’s capability has been enhanced by a brake-control type Limited Slip Differential. Safety comes in the form of 7 airbags and stability and traction control systems that include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). It also features Hill-Start Assist (HSA) and a ‘DIAMOND SENSE’ advanced safety system comprising Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) system, Auto High Beam (AHB), Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist (BSW with LCA), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Multi Around Monitor (MAM).

Another displayed double cab variant is All-New Mitsubishi Triton Double Cab 2.4 Prime 4WD which equipped with Mitsubishi's unique "SUPER SELECT 4WD II" all-wheel drive system. It is also the first pickup truck in Thailand to integrate the Active Yaw Control (AYC) system that enhances balance while cornering. The system will control the operation of inner wheel and outer wheel to maintain precise cornering stability, redefining drivability alongside 7 driving mode. These deliver exceptional drivability, excelling both on-road and off-road terrains. Makes more confident, fun-to-drive, and safe in every journey.

The other variant is the All-New Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab 2.4 PRO 4WD Auto that comes with Easy Select 4WD with a brake-control type Limited Slip Differential. The interior features a sound system with the best-in-class 10-inch display audio that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in addition to soft-touch premium seats. Safety features include three airbags, Active Stability Control (ASC), Traction Control System (TCL), ABS, EBD, and BA. It also features HSA. Four body colors are available for this variant including Solid White, Blade Silver, Graphite Gray and Jet Black.

Also sharing the spotlight is the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2.4 4WD Elite Edition, featuring Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II system with full-time All Wheel Control (AWC) technology that allows driver to shift the drive mode from 2WD to 4WD even while driving at high speed and to continue driving at high speed. This distinctive 4WD system enhances road grip and stable handling in all road conditions, even on wet and slippery roads for more confident, joyful, and safe at high-speed driving, more stability, less fatigue in long distance driving. All-New Triton is also equipped with this 4WD system.

With 2.4 MIVEC turbo-diesel engine capable of 181 horsepower, it also comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission with Sport Mode and Paddle Shift. Handling is taken care of by coil springs and anti-roll bars on all four wheels. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2.4 4WD Elite Edition can be distinguished by its distinctive front grille and black front-rear under garnish. To enhance driving dynamics, in addition to a range of driver aids that make up the All-Round Advanced Safety Technologies.
