Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Reaffirms Thailand Remains the Hub of Mitsubishi Motors’s Growth Strategy: No Plans to Cease Production of Mirage, Attrage

As one of the leading automotive manufacturers and exporters in Thailand, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand remains the hub of Mitsubishi Motors’s growth strategy.

With a production capacity of more than 400,000 units per year, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s manufacturing facility is Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's largest production hub outside Japan. Approximately 80 percent of the vehicles are destined for export to more than 120 markets globally. The company’s most recent production plans for Mitsubishi Mirage and Mitsubishi Attrage remain solid as the export ratio of these two models are higher than 90 percent while demand for eco-cars in Thailand remain strong. Consequently, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has no plans to cease production of Mitsubishi Mirage and Mitsubishi Attrage.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has continuously driven the growth plan with investments in various areas including a new production line with more than 250 state-of-the-art robots for the All-New Mitsubishi Triton, and production of the newly-developed ‘Hyper Power’ engine for the All-New Mitsubishi Triton, in 2023. In 2022, the company invested THB 3 billion in a world-class paint facility with eco-friendly technologies in Laem Chabang. Additionally, the company also invested THB 500 million in a production line at the third automotive factory in Laem Chabang, Chon Buri, to produce xEV vehicles starting with the Mitsubishi XPANDER HEV and XPANDER CROSS HEV. This will take place alongside the current production of eco-cars.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand is also committed to providing products that satisfy customers, fulfilling their mobility lifestyles while inspiring adventurous spirits through technological reliability in-line with the philosophy of Mitsubishi Motor-ness. The company is also strongly committed to grow and develop together with Thai society and its valued customers. It has been contributing to various aspects of Thailand's development for over 63 years through the company’s commitment to seven key corporate pillars including investment, export, environment, technology transfer, social responsibility, employment, and human resource development.
