Pay Respect to Luang Por Toh and View Windmills in Nakhon Ratchasima with the All New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

Amazing Road Trips with All New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport continues our journey in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Today we’ll bring you to one of the most stunning temples in the province and take a look at the first windmill plant in Thailand. Let’s get started!

Get to Know Our Destination

Non Khum Temple is also known as Luang Por Toh Temple with the world’s largest antique brass statue of Luang Por Toh (Somdej Phra Phuttajarn Toh Promrangsi). The man behind the establishment of the temple is famed actor Sorapong Chatree. The stunning architecture and beautifully-landscaped grounds make for a relaxing visit.

The Huay Bong windmill plant covers Dan Khun Tod and Tepharak districts and is part of the West Huay Bong 2 and West Huay Bong 3 projects. There is a total of 90 windmills over a 10,000-rai area, which makes this the largest windmill plant in Southeast Asia. Huay Bong was selected for the project due to constant wind all year round, location on a plateau, and proximity to the electricity grid. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand purchases all the electricity produced here.

Fun is sun

  • Pay respect to the statue of Luang Por Toh for good luck. Enjoy the beautiful scenery around the temple and sample the food at the free charity canteen. If you’d like to meet the famous actor and his wife, try visiting during the weekends.
  • The Huay Bong windmill plant is being developed as a tourist attraction of Nakhon Ratchasima so there are plenty to do and see. It’s guaranteed fun in the sun for everyone.

Travel Tips

  • A visit to the Huay Bong windmill plant should be made during the cool season when the temperature drops.
  • Don’t forget to bring your camera and other equipment so you won’t miss capturing any picturesque view to the envy of your friends.

How to Get There

To reach Non Khum Temple from Bangkok, use Mittraparp Road. The temple is located on this road in the inbound lane to Nakhon Ratchasima in Sikhio District, 40 kilometers before the downtown area. To get to the Huay Bong windmill plant, turn right onto Highway 201 from Sikhio District and then drive straight to the intersection with Highway 2256. Go straight in the direction of the Huay Bong Tambon Administrative Office.

Safe Driving Tips

To drive your All New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to Nakhon Ratchasima during this rainy season, do use the 4H (4WD HIGH-RANGE) to increase traction and safety when driving using high speed or when roads are slippery after the rain.
If you’re bringing your whole family on this trip to Nakhon Ratchasima, entertain them with the All New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport’s full-scale entertainment system. The DVD player comes equipped with a wide screen for passengers in the back and there’s even infrared earphones and remote control so the driver doesn’t need to operate anything for the passengers. Moreover, the dual zone automatic air-conditioner gives you greater convenience in adjusting the temperature for the passenger on the left and right side of the vehicle. Avoid fights if one person loves it toasty and the other loves it freezing.
