Beauty of the All New Pajero sport VS Beauty of Chantaburi, Gem of the East

Amazing Road Trips with All New Mitsubishi Pajero sport brings everyone to Thailand’s East to a seaside destination that has so much to offer for people of all ages. You’re guaranteed to fall in love with Chantaburi, the gem of the East, like you’ve fallen in love with the All New Pajero sport.

Get to Know Our Destination

Let’s get started with our trip to Chantaburi in the All New Pajero sport with a drive through the scenic 80-kilometer long Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit Road that hugs the coast and links the province’s seaside attractions from north to south. A stop not to be missed on this road is the Taksin Maharaj Bridge or Laem Singh Bridge which spans the Chantaburi River in Laem Singh District. This is also the longest bridge in the East at 1,060 meters in length and was built to cut down on the land transportation route through the area.

But if you want to truly know Chantaburi, head over to the Chantaboon Waterfront Community, a historic community for Chinese and Vietnamese refugees from the early Rattanakosin era. It became a key commercial hub during the time of King Rama V and buildings here date back hundreds of years. What’s noteworthy is the etchings on the windows and doors of vines and mythical creatures which is the key symbol of Chantaburi artisans. You can also view the spectacular ancient architecture in the area.

Another destination not to be missed is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception which took 285 years to build. Construction started in 1711 before the church was relocated from the west of the Chantaburi River to the east side. The architecture is gothic style while the inside contains stunning stained glass images of various saints. The church is one of Thailand’s oldest, largest, and most beautiful. Our last featured destination is Chalerm Phrakiat Public Park, which locals love to go relax and exercise in the mornings and evenings. The park also has a huge Buddha statue that can be seen from afar.

Fun in the Sun

  • If you like cycling, don’t miss biking on Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit Road and soak in the amazing view of the coast as well as enjoy the uphill and downhill ride.
  • The Nang Phaya Hill on Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit Road is the perfect stop to take in the 360 degree view of the Kung Wimarn Bay. And from Laem Singh Bridge, you can see the local fishing community and take in one of the best sunset views or even fish if you are keen for the sport.
  • The Chantaboon Waterfront Community has a lot of chic cafes for you to sit back and enjoy the slow life along the Chantaburi River. Don’t forget to taste the local ice cream and the crayfish noodle.

Travel Tips

  • In May of every year, Chantaburi will host its durian fest so fans of durians and other Thai fruits such as rambutan and mangosteen must not miss visiting the province. There are a number of fruit orchards which charge an entrance fee for visitors to go in and pick and eat fruits right from the tree.
  • Chantaburi has a huge number of resorts and hotels, whether it be by the sea at Chao Lao Beach or even at the Chantaburi Waterfront Community but availability there is quite limited so do book in advance.
  • Chantaburi is a foodie’s paradise whether it be fresh seafood, pork or beef liang noodles, or crayfish noodles. And don’t miss trying the local delicacy like chamuang pork.

How to Get There

To get to Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit Road from Sukhumvit Road, turn right onto Highway 3399 and once you reach the 301st kilometer, go straight and enter the dolphin roundabout. Head in the direction of the right towards Kung Wimarn Bay and you’ll be right at the start of the scenic road. If you want to go to the Chantaboon Waterfront Community, once you pass the City Pillar Shrine in front of the Taksin military camp, you’ll see the Chantaburi provincial police station. Once you arrive at the Wat Chan Bridge, find parking at Taluang community on the right or in the school across the church. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception can be accessed through the entrance of Pai Lom Temple or cross the Wat Chan Bridge and use the Chantanimit Road. The Chalerm Phrakiat Public Park is located on Tachalaeb Road.

Safe Driving Tips

In driving your All New Pajero sport to Chantaburi in the East during this rainy season, you’re recommended to use the 4H (4WD HIGH-RANGE) to increase traction if driving at high speed or on slippery roads after the rain.
Whether you’re bringing your gang or buying fresh seafood back from Chantaburi, don’t worry about transporting them in your All New Pajero sport, which has Flexible Utility Space and a spacious passenger compartment with seats that can fold up to give as much space as you need. Moreover, the third row seat can fold completely down for additional storage.
